INTRODUCTION
Hi! I'm Mercii, sometime Mercicrux or Fox (hence the header image).Welcome to my website! I'm going to use this as a place where I can document all my projects, and as a blog. I probably wont be writing very often, because I have other things to do, but when I do write it'll be about space, sciences, and engineering. I am a big supporter of FOSS, so for all my projects, I will either be using Freecad or Librecad. I host all my projects on my github page.
INSPIRATION
This entire website was inspired by errormine.net, and at the start of the website, entirely stolen (I don't fucking know how to write CSS), most of the HTML is entirely unedited, although I have edited the actual text bits to suit me. if you want to see what inspired errormine, their website is here. Other than that, I have changed some of the colours, formatting, and also I have used a different images in some places. At this time, I don't really plan to change much more, but I might in the future.
All images I am using are designed in Librecad. I am 90% sure the image of the fox within the logo is taken from somewhere, as I just found it on my hard drive, but I'm not sure where. Either way, the original image wasn't a vector, so I recreated it as a copy. All the files for any images can be found on my github page, here.
TOOLS
Here are a few tool that I use to make things that you will see on this website, more can be found on the recources page, but these ones are the most useful in my opinion.
-
Firefox
Free and open-source web browser developed by the Mozilla Foundation.
-
Zed
An open-source code editor that is sort of similar to Atom (RIP).
-
GoatCounter
Easy web analytics. No tracking of personal data.
-
Inkscape
An open source vector graphics editor.
-
Librecad
A 2D CAD program, I mainly use it for digital drafting. It is VERY similar to Autocad, if you are looking for an alternative.
-
Freecad
A 3D open source CAD program. It has a bit of a steep learning curve, but functions very well.
